Thundersport awards night

Thundersport awards night

Last weekend was the presentation night for the 2010 season. As well as a
great chance to catch up with friends, it was also time to finally get my
hands on the championship trophies – one to keep and one to hold for a year
that gets every winner’s name added – which were presented by racing legend
Jeremy McWilliams. I received a surprise award too, the Lord of the Lap
Records trophy for holding more class records than anyone else at
Thundersport. It was presented by Robert Fearnall, the circuit manager of
Donington Park. That was fitting, as not only is that one of my favourite
tracks, I also hold the Streetfighter lap record on the GP circuit and both
old and new versions of the National circuit. Hopefully some of my lap
records will last a while when I move on to another class, but more on that
