Good news and bad news. Bad news first. My bike dropped a valve during practice and my weekend was over before it had begun. I’d hoped that the poor running was an electrical fault but when I found pieces of metal – valve collet, it turned out – in the airbox, I knew I wasn’t […]

Multistrada tank range
29 Jul 2011
Ducati claim a 200 mile tank range for the Multistrada but I get a bit anxious at about 165 miles but I am a bit throttle happy.

2003 CB600 Hornet
28 Jul 2011
I took Jo’s bike out for a bit of a ragging today. She has been off on leave and my experience of Honda 4’s is they don’t like being sat around. So I nipped out on it. Warm day, dry roads and a buzzy high revving little bike brought out my inner hooligan.

AGV Stealth SV review
27 Jul 2011
I have now done about 500 miles in the new AGV Stealth SV, in matt black, badged Ducati (have I become a Ducatesti? I fear so) and have ridden in it enough to form some early views. The drop down visor is really useful, and means I don’t have to cart around a spare visor. […]

Billing Bike Fest 2011

Martyn, Rhiannon and Andrew all attended the 2011 Billing Bike Fest over the weekend. Quite a busy show with lots going on, see more in some of the photos we took. Quick mention to George, a proper English breed Bulldog.

Adjusting Chain on the Ducati Multistrada 1200
18 Jul 2011
First of all, Ducati’s don’t melt in the rain. I found out today in a short but horrendous downpour. Nor did I get a full on laser show from all the electrics shorting out. The Mutley just pressed on through, unflustered. And the boxes did not leak. Anyway, on Saturday I adjusted the chain on […]

Snetterton race 2
17 Jul 2011
Despite having the Best First Lap Of All Time, I finished 5th in class and 9th overall. That’s ok, especially as it would take a hell of a lot to get near the top four Superstock bikes, but I’m a bit disappointed in my best lap time. At the start I got away cleanly and […]

Snetterton race 3
With a huge thunderstorm looming, we were racing the weather as much as each other. Ten minutes after we finished it rained so hard that the paddock flooded instantly and everyone ran for cover. The race was hard but fun. I gave it everything and went a bit quicker but was 6th in class this […]

Snetterton qualifying
Through the wettest conditions I’ve ever ridden in, I qualified 8th overall to get on the second row. I’m 4th in Superstock. That’s as high as I’ve been all year and much better than I’ve been in the wet previously, so I’m really pleased. It’s still raining hard so the race will be wet too. […]

Snetterton race 1
Rain stops play! Heavy rain showers caused delays throughout today and when the GP1 race finally started it was straight into a rain storm of biblical proportions. After two laps the track was so flooded that the race had to be stopped until the rain subsided and the standing water could be brushed clear. At […]

Ducati Multistrada Review
13 Jul 2011
I now don’t have the Panzer Tractor R1200GS and have my lithe Italian beauty, the Ducati Multistrada. It is a little cracker, goes like stink, and is reasonably comfortable – the long distance comfort was increased greatly by the addition of a CalSci windshield which does not really spoil the looks.
