I’m not sure what’s more incredible, the beautiful sunshine for the third day in a row in north west Wales or the podium I just scored on a Honda FireStorm.
It came at the expense of bad fortune for Keith Smith, who highsided out of second place, but unhurt.
Matthews took second, denied the win again by Denyer who wrapped up the championship with a victory. I’m gutted to see it go, and really disappointed that I couldn’t make him work harder for it. I know the Tuono would be fast here. Never mind.
The job now is to get more solid points to consolidate second overall.
All the best.
The 2008 season was my novice year, and I entered Thundersport’s top class, GP1, on a GSX-R1000 K4. Racing on a shoestring, with no back-up at all and riding the oldest bike on the grid, I scored strong results against fierce competition. These performances earned recognition and praise from commentators, organisers, and rivals alike, culminating in the club’s Rookie Of The Year award.
