It is perfectly legal for motorcyclists to filter down the side of traffic, and one of the may advantages to being a motorcyclist. There are risks from motorists who fail to see a filtering motorcyclist, either because they just didn’t see the rider from lack of attention or the rider was in a blind spot. Cars can quite often pull out from a line of traffic without indicating or checking their mirrors, into the path of a filtering motorcyclist.
