Dog Vs Bike
12 Feb 2014
I was riding along my local high street when a chihuahua dog (yes, the really small type) called Twinkle jumped out of her owner’s handbag and ran straight out in front of me, causing me to swerve, crash into a massive pile of rubbish outside the local kebab shop and fall off. Not my coolest […]
The law cannot provide you any protection
05 Feb 2014
The law is simple as to what we motorcyclists must wear. Speedos and a buckled, type approved helmet will meet the legal requirements but would look foolish and not really work in our temperate island. Lady riders would do well to put a bikini top on to avoid public decency arrests but that is all […]
We have a winner!

Keith Russell came to collect the last green Kawasaki Ninja from our offices on Monday.

Can I swap my company car for a company bike?
22 Jan 2014
I work in the print trade and spend a lot of time on the road, usually over 30,000 miles a year. I could work a lot more effectively by travelling by motorbike, but before I raise it with my boss (also a biker) I want to know if I can legally chop my company car […]
Can I use a bike as my business vehicle?
15 Jan 2014
I’m considering getting a bike for my work. I’m a self-employed mobile auto electrician working in London, with most of my work in the City and West End. I can carry all my tools and kit in one large toolbox. With a bike I avoid the Congestion Charge, delays and sitting in traffic burning diesel.
Can wearing a dark visor invalidate my insurance?
08 Jan 2014
What are the insurance implications of a tinted visor? I’m interested in a light tint visor, with less tint than a ‘normal’ pair of sunglasses.
A nasty surprise awaits
01 Jan 2014
I recently acquired a 1998 Triumph Daytona 955i so my 50 year old mate with a California license could ride it for a three week trip around the UK and Europe. After phoning multiple insurance companies, only one seemed to be able to do this simple task.

Badly injured while riding on Mad Sunday
18 Dec 2013
I was seriously injured on the TT course two years ago. I am not a racer, but on Mad Sunday I was riding at a speed I thought was fair enough. I have done a few trackdays and I was riding a high-performance sportsbike when some lunatic, approaching a tightish bend, shot past me as […]

Not wheelie very good
06 Nov 2013
I have just got back into biking (I used to have a Triumph Tiger 500 back in the 1970s – good times) and bought a new Yamaha Rl on which to head out on rides with my mates. I had only had it for a few weeks when I had an incident.
Mobility stupidity
30 Oct 2013
I was riding my bike down a main road near to where I live. At a junction to my left there was a stationary white van and as I came closer I could see the driver waving his arms about like a mad man. I slowed down thinking there must surely be something wrong.
Lies, damned lies and outright fraudulent claims
23 Oct 2013
Honesty is the best policy. I received one of those lovely calls telling me that as a result of my entirely non-existent road traffic accident and my even less real whiplash injury that I was entitled to £3300, and all I needed to do was sign a few pieces of paper and be seen by […]
