I was involved in a straightforward accident, I was riding along a busy urban road and, as I crossed through a green light, a car in the opposite lane travelling in the opposite direction turned right, straight across my path.

I was following a coach along some single track roads in the Scottish Highlands. Eventually the driver braked to give way to an oncoming vehicle, but then put his coach into reverse and backed up and in the process, ran both me and my motorcycle over.

We would like annual holiday / travel insurance specifically for motorcyclists, or a policy that is happy to cover bikers as part of a more general travel insurance scheme, as several short trips a year, always to Europe and always touring on normal roads.

I have a fancy Garmin-made BMW sat nav on my R1200GS, which works with a thumb-wheel control on the left-hand bar. However, a police friend of mine told me that, notwithstanding the thumb ring, if I operated the sat nav while riding I would be committing an offence.
