Last race of the season
by Jamie Wilkins on Oct.18, 2009, under Jamie Wilkins
What a weekend. I won the last race by 9.5 seconds to complete a clean sweep. That’s four wins, pole, and another new lap record of 1m14.3s. It’s such a buzz and I’m really happy.
The Streetfighter B championship went right to the wire. Craig Morley and Barry Utting were tied on points at the start of the race so whoever finished ahead would be champion. Craig crossed the line 0.1s ahead for a well-deserved title, especially as he missed the first two rounds.
Behind me, Andy Denyer completed an amazing season of 31 uniterrupted podiums and Keith Smith took third place and third overall.
I’m second overall, but with 17 wins, 6 poles and 6 lap records I’m more than satisfied.
Thanks to all the people that came to support me this weekend, and everyone reading these blogs. It’s really appreciated. Finally, one more big thanks to S&B Automotive Academy, White Dalton Motorcycle Solicitors, and Aprilia. It’s been epic.

Rockingham race three
by Jamie Wilkins on Oct.18, 2009, under Jamie Wilkins
Erm, I won. By 15 seconds.
My start was ok and I was third on the first lap, second by the end of it and in the lead on the third lap. After that I got my head down and pushed for a couple of laps, scoring a new record of 1m14.2s on the way. Once I had a gap I kept it smooth but found I could still run in 14s comfortably. It was a mega win and I was pleased to have the chance in the TV interview to thank Aprilia, S&B Automotive Academy, and White Dalton Motorcycle Solicitors.
Really looking forward to the last race of the year. There’s only one aim, of course. ![]()

Race two
by Jamie Wilkins on Oct.17, 2009, under Jamie Wilkins
Ta-da. I won race two. My start wasn’t ideal again and I was third for the first couple of laps, but once past Keith Smith I reeled in Denyer and overtook into the hairpin a lap later.
There were a couple of close calls with backmarkers, especially Mark Lumb who changed line on his Ducati 900 mid-corner and we collided. Luckily we both stayed on.
The bike is going great, so all it needs is a new rear Dunlop D211GP.
Thanks to everyone who has been texting me with support, and to Danny and Locci who came along today. Also massive congratulations to my friend Sam Cox for a stunning first outing on his new CB500.
All the best.

Race one
by Jamie Wilkins on Oct.17, 2009, under Jamie Wilkins
This feels so good to write – I won. That’s the first win since July for various reasons, and it was by 8.5 seconds.
I got a poor start and slipped to fourth, but passed Smith and Denyer on the first lap and Morley at the start of the second. After that I put my head down, did smooth and quick laps and pulled away.
If I finish ahead of Smith in the next race then I’ll secure second overall in the championship. Even better, this win means that I’ll definitely end the season with the most wins and that means a lot.

Pole dancing!
by Jamie Wilkins on Oct.17, 2009, under Jamie Wilkins
Pole position that is. I’m top of the time sheets by a massive 1.4s. I knew I’d put some good laps together when I had clear track, but I didn’t expect that size advantage.
Lining up with me on the front row will be Craig Morley in second and leading the B class. Then comes new champion Andy Denyer and fourth is Keith Smith, who is likely to take third overall away from Chris Matthews whose engine broke yesterday in practice.
Wish me luck for the races.
