Snet race three

The weather is playing havoc as one shower after another whips overhead in the gale force winds. It rained ten minutes before our race but was drying in places again by the time we went out. I’d been strong in those conditions in second qualifying so I felt confident.
Another good start from 13th on the grid got me into sixth by the first corner and third by the end of the back straight. Andy Denyer was leading on his home-made special and starting to pull away, so I made a move on Chris Matthews for second at the first chance and gave chase. I passed Denyer at about half distance and started opening up a gap. Unfortunately, his bike broke down, but it was impressive to see him leading on a home made bike.
Once I saw I had a gap I stayed smooth and won by 8s. Matthews was second, then Plaskitt who held off a hard charging Mick Riddle.
In the Bs, my team-mate Nige rode brilliantly to take second in the class, scrapping hard for the place, posting excellent times and staying in sight of Barry Utting who maintained his perfect record of wins.
