I rode the Mutley in rush hour traffic today, riding from Aylesbury to Bristol and back, first leg in the wet. So apart from overtakes it was a pretty steady ride. I got 40.3 miles to the gallon giving 177 mile tank range, one up, with boxes, ridden in a pretty ordinary fashion.

This is pretty well the same range as I get when I thrash the Mutley. I reckon I’d do better if I constantly rode one cog up but the bike really rides much less smoothly. I’d like to do a steady ride with no overtakes to see what genuine tank range. Hang on, I didn’t buy a 1200 Biposto engined Ducati for practical reasons, so that’s the tank range for me. If I wanted practicality and tank range I’d have bought a diesel Toyota Yaris. But I didn’t.
