I was waiting in traffic on my SV1000 when some numpty in a Corsa ran into the back of me. I lost my balance and the Suzuki leaned to that point of no return so I laid it down gently.
Rides to remember
28 Aug 2014
With 2014 marking 100 years since the commencement of the Great War, I thought it was about time I went to some of the battlefields I’ve so often bypassed while riding to the south of France.
Motorcycling in Morocco
21 Aug 2014
Andrew Dalton looks at things you need to be mindful of when riding in Morocco. Morocco is not part of the European Union, so if you have a serious prang in Morocco then you are in a legal system based on post Independence French law with a distinctly north African flavour.

Behaviour when pulled (Part 2)
14 Aug 2014
Do not fall for the oldest tricks in the book which are favoured questions, ‘Why do you think I stopped you?’ and ‘How fast were you going’. Or the other great favourite, ‘Can you tell me what the speed limit is that you were riding through?’
Why persistence, experience and expertise pay off
11 Aug 2014
After nearly 2 years of hard battling, my biker Client won flat out 100% against a van driver at Liverpool County Court last week and I couldn’t be happier.
When is fully comp not fully comp?
07 Aug 2014
My bike crashed and sustained a lot of mechanical and some cosmetic damage when the gearbox locked up as I was decelerating onto the tollbooths of the Severn Crossing. It was at low speed, and I got away with bumps and bruises.
Hire bike trouble

I was out with some mates for a blast up the coast near where I live on my new MT-09. I went for an overtake, and in all honesty I was doing about 45mph in 30mph when I spotted a speed camera van parked up in a well dodgy position on the side of the […]
Fish & Chip oil slick
26 Jun 2014
I have a weird situation… My mate lives out in the sticks in a little housing estate. I swung round to see him on my XJR1300 and as I turned into his close my front-end slipped away and I tumbled off. I hit the deck and fractured my elbow. Upon getting up I saw the […]
Old school policing and the attitude test
17 Jun 2014
Attitude when dealing with any reasonably serious traffic offence is paramount. And a reasonable approach is equally important from both parties when the law comes into contact with the individual. Some time ago a police officer who was chasing me on an R100RT was livid at my riding. I hadn’t even registered him.
