Fog City Insert – has my one died too quickly?

I have ridden into London and up to Birmingham in foggy, drizzly weather, with the Fog City inner visor in my Shoei Qwest and I was surprised that I was getting fogged up – so that I was riding with my visor up at motorway speeds. My I nor visor has done about 4500 mile as an absolute maximum and is about 5 months old – any tips as this is the first time I have had any misting problems with a Fog City in years of use?
