London to Brighton Bike Ride 2008Just to show that lawyers are not all money grabbing sharks wearing sharp suits (and probably because some of us are having a mid-life crisis – or beating the queue and having an early one) some of cycled from London to Brighton (on bikes that need our legs not a motor) in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
A very proud White Dalton London to Brighton cycling team made it to the end of the 54 mile journey, some quicker than others! Richard on his racer finished in a lightning quick 3 hours and 9 minutes, next year he hopes to break the 3 hour mark. Andrew made it in 5 hours and 2 minutes on his mountain bike and found the ride very comfortable with his built in suspension and 21 gears. Richard and Andrew were the only two that made it up Ditchling Beacon without getting off their bikes. John managed to shear a bolt on his pedal cleats and ended up in the pitstop for 45 minutes, bringing his finishing time to 5 hours and 13 minutes. Nick completed the race in 4 hours 10 minutes with a surprising lack of saddle sores, although he did manage to fall over at the very start unable to remove his cycling shoe from the pedal. He thinks he managed to get away with it though with only 5,000 people watching. Thank you to everyone who sponsored us and all sponsorship money will go to the British Heart Foundation.
